如何选择适合你的linux zz-红联Linux系统门户

想装LINUX系统的朋友首先要明白：你想用LINUX来做什么？
不推荐想玩游戏和需要用到一些很专业而LINUX下又没有替代软件朋友安装。
很多未用过LINUX的朋友都会问：LINUX能做什么？会不会很难使用？
我根据自己的经验来回答：LINUX几乎能完全取代WINDOWS的了，经过这么多年的发展。
就我自己来说吧，通常现在我一个月就进入XP系统二三次左右吧，其它时候都在用LINUX。
LINUX下的很多软件都已经很好用的了，就举例来说在我们这个论坛里下载，在LINUX下就有aMule和xMule二个软件来下载论坛的资源，和WINDOWS下使用差不多，不过当然首先要将论坛的服务器IP加入它列表才能够更快速地下载的了(在WINDOWS下我们不用手动加)。还未用过LINUX的朋友请注意：
个人认为用LINUX选对适合自己的发行版比什么都重要！
不过LINUX的发行版实在是太多了点，所以选择便变成了一种困难。

1，Mandrake
我强烈向大家推荐Mandrake！既因为它是目前全球最多人使用的发行版，也因为它是我在用过十多个发行版后最爱的发行版！
Mandrakelinux 是由 Mandrakesoft S.A. 支持的 GNU/Linux 发行版，于 1998 年在 Internet上诞生。其长久以来的目标就是为大众提供易用友好的GNU/Linux系统。Mandrakesoft 植根于开放源代码和协同工作，并从中受益颇深。

Mandrakelinux 10.2就快推出的了，不过可能不会再叫做此名称，皆因它收购了巴西的一个发行版后有可能会换商标。
2， Fedora Core
Red Hat Linux 9之后Redhat就不再单独发行桌面版，所以就和社区合作推出的发行版，目前最新的是Fedora Core3，Fedora Core4可能将于5月16号推出。
不推荐新手用这个发行版，它是Redhat的试验器，用的软件几乎都是最新，并同时尝试开发更多的新技术，所以不免会有不少的BUG，比较适合对LINUX比较了解的人使用，或者开发人员也对它十分喜欢。
3，SUSE
SUSE是在欧洲比较流行的操作系统，界面豪华，它可能是国外的发行版中对中文的支持最好的了，因为它有钱，花了二十多万向方正买了字体。但在中国使用的还不太多。
SuSE Linux Pro 9.2是目前最新版本(我用过，在同样的机子上比Mandrake慢太多了)，不过9.3也很快出的了。
4，debian
Debian GNU/Linux 是一套包含Linux作为核心的、拥有一个叫做APT的优秀软件管理程序的发行套件（apt是一个连网安装软件的工具，十分容易用，如果加上dpkg和synaptic的话，它们可以满足你大多数的软件需要，很方便的升级，安装它是免费的、非商业性质的、高质量的并且结构非常清晰的系统。你可以在很小的硬盘上安装它软件的安装很方便(没有驱动器字母和注册表文件)。也没有烦人的许可证制度或规定试用期限的注册序列号。更没有病毒。
想用它的朋友一定要注意网络速度，若网速很慢的话就绝对不要用它。
5，knoppix
我们的论坛里就有下载，是3.6的中文版的，有需要的朋友可搜一下。
大家常用的光盘LINUX，使用的是免安装，直接在光盘运行的LINUX系统，通常大家都将它作为修复系统时的首选系统！
可以用在Linux演示、课程培训、系统恢复或者商业软件演示平台等方面
可以作为一个随身携带的Linux使用，可以用它上网、玩游戏、编辑文档
可以作为硬盘版本的底本----你可以用10-20分钟装好它，而且不用自己去配置中文支持
Knoppix的应用偏重于桌面方面。由于它采用的都是Debian里面最新的(也就是被Debian标记为test或者unstable甚至experi****l的)软件包，所以不要拿它来做你的网络服务器！这是一个可以光盘运行的LINUX操作系统，对硬盘上的数据无任何影响，而且系统以压缩的方式存储在光盘上，700M的光盘浓缩了近两Gb的内容：办公文字编辑，上网浏览，编程开发，应有尽有，而且支持即插即用。所以用它再加一个USB盘，则是一个
不错的移动办公环境。
6，slackware
很老的发行版，在国外听说相当流行，不过国内的用户不多。
Slackware Linux是由Patrick Volkerding开发的GNU/Linux发行版。与很多其他的发行版不同，它坚持KISS(Keep It SimpleStupid)的原则，就是说没有任何配置系统的图形界面工具。一开始，配置系统会有一些困难，但是更有经验的用户会喜欢这种方式的透明性和灵活性。
7，RedHat
在服务器上占有率最高的发行版，也是目前最成功的LINUX发行版。
是国内最熟悉的发行版，也就不用多说了。
国外的发行版我只比较熟悉上面几个，其它的例如GENTOO之类的，没有一定的基础是玩不转的，所以就不多作介绍了。
下面再说说国内的发行版：
1，红旗
可能是目前国内最成功的发行版，最新版本是4.1，未用过LINUX的朋友可能会觉得它很好用，不过经过一些日子后就会发觉用它还不如用XP算了，它模仿WINDOWS很似，完全失去了LINUX的优点(只是我个人看法)。
2，共创
也是模仿WINDOWS的发行版，和XP界面差不多完全一样，最新版本叫做共创2005。
3，华镭
Rays由新华科技系统软件有限公司推出，是新一代的国产操作系统。
还有其它的一些由爱好者做的发行版就不多作介绍的了。
还有中软和拓林思等发行版，不过我都不熟悉就不多说了。
以下内容是luckyroot写的，为了方便看贴让他发来给我合全一帖了。
为什么要装LINUX？当然是为了扮酷了（表笑我肤浅）了，看看别人千篇一律WINDOWS，多没个性，用LINUX你可以每天换一个窗口管理器，如果你愿意你甚至可以每天换一个发行版（也足够你换几年的了），再怎么说LINUX也是一个黑客们开发和维护的发行版，源码代开放，只要你愿意，你就可以十分清楚地了解到每个程序运行时占有了多少的内存（可以精确到字节），还有大量大量的软件几乎全部都是免费的。中病毒的机率几乎是百分之零点零零零一吧，通常都不用装杀毒软件，个人用户连防火墙都关了也没什么关系。
什么是Linux？
准确的说，是指Linux的kernel(系统的核心程序)，其内核版权属于Linus Torvalds，在GPL(GNU General Public License)版权协议下发行, 任何人都可以自由的复制(copy), 修改(change), 套装分发(distribute),销售，但是不可以在分发时加入任何限制, 而且所有原码必须是公开的，所以任何人都可以无偿取得所有执行文件和源代码。
LINUX各发行版由于太多了，各发行版之间的差别很大，既有LFS之类的BT高手专用版（如果由一个完全不懂LINUX的新手来安装，大概要用一年的时间才能安装成功吧），也有红旗之类的比XP还简单的，所以初学LINUX的选一个合用的发行版才变得如此重要。
为了方便论坛上的新手选择，写下对各发行版的了解，牛人不要笑，望保充：
一，红旗
众多高手都不屑于用的发行版，不过偶认为对于新手来说作为对LINUX的入门来说还是不错的。
下载地址在这里，下载正式版的第一和第二块碟行了，第一块是系统盘，第二块是常用软件。

比较熟悉后，当然是同时安装几个发行版，你就可以向朋友吹牛，你的电脑里有多少多少个系统了，只要你的硬盘够大。
二，RedHat
务器的最佳选择，强烈推荐！由于 redhat 对软件开发过程的支持，以及对企业用户的完备服务，使得 RHEL 非常有价值，满足了不同对象的需求.学用它对找工作有利。

AS, ES, WS 侧重不同的硬件软件环境.
推荐使用最新RHAS4。
三，Linux Mandrake
[/COLOR]最自动化的安装过程
Mandrakelinux 的安装过程长期以来都是由 Linux 领域中最受尊敬的安装程序DrakX 完成的。而现在，我们将其打造的更加易用更加强大。也提供了各种新特性，比如更改 NTFS硬盘分区的大小，自动检测并设置打印机。图形安装程序现在提供的观感更加符合流行趋势，布局和颜色更合理，字体的边角也更圆滑。默认的安装过程显著简化。每个安装步骤都更加智能，大多数硬件设备也能够自动识别和配置。而高级用户也可在安装的任意过程访问高级配置选项。轻松选择安装“类型”，可以是桌面或面向服务器的系统，只需选中相应的软件包分组即可。安装的方式多种多样，包括网络安装，CD 或 DVD 安装。

四，Suse
一个欧洲最流行、最著名的发行版,在欧洲占有率最高,在众多 Linux 套件中，SuSE 可能仍是最适合新手入门的其中之一，同时也保有 Linux 的精神，有趣且富弹性的使用环境，以及琳琅满目的软件套件。荣登标准相容性最高的 Linux 套件宝座。
五，Knoppix
Knoppix 是由德国程式设计师克劳斯(Klaus Knopper)设计的，他把他的姓 Knopper 和 Linux 结合在一起称为「Knoppix」，由於Linux 系统在安装上并不像 Windows 系统那麽方便，外人总喜欢用「 Linux 安装不方便、介面不好用」的说词来打压 Linux ，克劳斯特别把KDE 版的 Linux 改写成速成光盘版，使用者只要把Knoppix 光盘放入光驱中，启动时更改成从光盘启动，就可以使用 Linux ，省去安装 Linux
的麻烦，而且不会对主机现有硬盘造成任何影响，也不用担心 Linux 和 Windows 系统不相容的问题，而且 KDE介面很友善，单纯的使用者自己试试就会操作，克劳斯也把网络上用 Linux 写成的小游戏放在光盘里，比 Windows 附属应用程式里的小游戏还要好玩哩！
Knoppix Linux 是以自由软体 Linux 的 Debian 套件为主干，不必安装，免用硬盘，直接在光盘上执行完整的 Linux 操作系统,
它既可以用来当桌上工作站用，也可以用来当网络服务器。
六，Debian
这个发行版的用户不少，不过正式版更新很慢，在现时的大学生群中较流行。
这份操作系统中的大部分的基本工具来自于 GNU 计划；因为我们把它们命名为 GNU/Linux 和 GNU/Hurd。这些工具同样都是自由的。当然，人们真正需要的是应用软件，也就是帮助他们完成他们想完成的工作的程序∶从编辑文档，进行商业交易，玩游戏，到写更多其他的软件。
一般它的用户都是下载一块百多M的碟后就通过网络定制其它的软件安装的。
其它的发行版都不是很熟，介绍从略，希望大家补充：
七，AbulÉdu Summary
发行 AbulÉdu
AbulÉdu是一份来自法国的发行，它面向教育机构中数据处理应用而特别设计。它最初基于Mandrake Linux，但最近的发行则基于Debian/Knoppix。
不要问我如何的了，我不用过，不知我们VERY论坛上是否有人用过？
八，Adamantix
目标是创建一份高度安全同时又不影响其可用性的Linux平台。
我不尝试去访问过主页或下载，若那个想要下载而发现是死连接的话，望见谅。下同。
九，Arch Linux
这个发行版目前有少量的中国用户在用的了，可能会是一个相当优秀的发行版。有潜力，不知VERY们有无兴趣了？Arch Linux是一份为i686优化的轻量级Linux发行，它包含了各种软件的最新稳定版本。软件以.tar.gz格式打包并由包管理器进行跟踪维护，这样的设计使得软件升级非常容易。与其他发行相比，Arch的技术相当之先进。
十，CPUBuilders Summary
CPUBuilders Linux是一份基于RPM的完整的Linux发行，它为桌面及服务器应用而设计。我们尽力包纳可能多的软件，并在不损失任何高级功能性的前提下提供一种更易于使用的Linux体验。初学者也可以使用它，高级用户则可进行深入的开发，它与能广泛获得的Red Hat和Fedora Core软件包兼容，而且，依靠可选的及并不昂贵的Cognitio服务，还很容易对它进行升级维护。
就写这么多了，若多介绍的话（由于LINUX的发行版实在太多了，完全没可能进行全介绍的）不但我要很多时间，还会令到大家看帖时不方便，毕竟计算机工作室的帖子太长了总不好。
个人认为不需要关注太多的发行版，只需要用最多人用的就行了，毕竟操作系统若尝试太多的话会很费时间的，向大家推荐SUSE和Mandrake这二个版本，或者用国内的红旗也行，只要能够满足自己的需要的了就可以一直用下去也行的，不一定要换发行版的。
