Okay, I'm interested in better interactivity, I can resign from using reiser4 for this.

1) You must understand that _PURE_ speed of filesystem isnt all there are also other aspects for example like latencies , cpu usage and even "some kind of fs preempting".
2) Just look at Ingo Molnar's many of (latency) fixes for EXT* filesystem . Why He doesnt doing it for reiser* ( just an rethoric question )
3) EXT3 isnt a extremal fs like reisefs who are GOOD in some aspect and BAD in other. EXT3 just is AVERAGE in every aspect. not winning in some and loosing in others , its just average in every . this thing making a good balance for overall using. Reiserfs is faster at some apects but is the worst at other apects. Just is no any magic in the wold . and ther is no BEST fs for all . there is also no remedium for the world
ext* family is most average , reiser* is extremly good and bad at once. xfs and jfs are bad and good without this extremly prefix hehe.

and notice also this thing :
is a difference if copying a kernel dir can take You a 3 seconds more if time of it is around ~20 secs ?
for me this is no diffence .

if this 3 seconds bennefit is worh of loss interactivity and cpu usage ?
我想是针对个人情况而言，在实际使用中，我曾在Reiserfs和Ext3下都栽过。不过一般性的使用EXT2、EXT3、reisefts、XFS都行，大不了重装就可以啦，在这一方面gentoo首席执行官，也做过以上文件系统的技术分析比较。
早年在使用slackware9.1时，就出现过在启动时无法找至reiserfs分区，提示分区表损坏不能挂载的情况，类似问题有两次，我自己可不会把 系统给格了吧，系统中还有许多给信用社建的客户数据表？当然slackware8以前从没这种情况，因slackware不支持系统挂载XFS分区，使用 XFS需用光盘引导，Slackware也真够安全的，这样一来在本地使用XFS文件系统没有光盘是无法进入系统的，在slackware使用XFS文件 系统时，就意味着不会去关机，但个人不可能这么做。所以自己用就把系统给换了，现在还有点留恋slackware的。Ext3就不用说了，我和其它很多人 都说过，是哑口黄莲，自认倒霉。
以上数据表明Eong的提供测试数据虽在一此情况下，数度是有所提高，在综合比的情况下XFS仍是较高的，在这一测试中我个人感觉只是在速度上所做出的一些评测，没有更多涉及其它部分 内容，如日志记录、数据恢复、安全陋洞等方面。众所周知，EXT3在某些特点的情况下（特别是小文件）速度是较高的，因此利用补丁程序使EXT3再发挥速 度上的优势是可能的。另外在此次测试中，没有明确使用的内核版本，因此，在特定条件下与一般环境还是有一点差距。

老外就是这样。不是依靠感觉来说话的，是看实际的数据和测试，不是说凭空就说这个好那个不好。
Eong我说的没有针对你，如果有向你道歉，嗯，老外是这样，用数据说话！我们就差这一点，太?。不过说实话了，有时无从下手，对系统结构而言，小到 文件系统，大到内核及数据结构。就GNU软件就有3万之多，实在没法一一了解。必竟不是我们所开发的东西，很多东西我们是倒过来学习，先从应用层开始── 然后是模块等，难就难在这里，如Linux内核，是整个系统的核心部分，即协议层，它由此构建整个系统，IO中断、硬件、支持库，驱动引擎、网络组成及数 据结构等，这是最难的部分。如果只是涉及到应用层，就简单多了，可谁叫我们喜欢这些东西，呵呵，我不是学理工科的，现在有些后悔，想深入深入不下去。现在 觉得，Linux不是玩几个晚上就能学会什么的。原也使用过很长一段时间的商业版Unix系统，但大部分也只是在系统管理方面，不需要深入到太多内核及文 件系统这块。用了几年Linux，原以为多少有许了解，但从sir上提出的许多小问题，确感一问三不知，?愧，往往只能凭着自己的一点经验去揣则,呵呵， 说这么多废话是有感而发，我在想既然已经进入这一领域，总不能半途而废，从个人多年的感觉而言，说句实话，Linux不是用于一般的桌面应用的系统，从一 开始就不是，已后是不是不清楚，但我想不会，即便安装及设置更加方便，但Linux不只是秀一秀它的视窗管理器而已。在没有做好必要准备时没必要钻到 Linux上（我想对很多不是计算机专业的新手说这句话）。如果只是想简单的感觉一下哪到无仿，这玩意儿比网络游戏还伤人，纯粹是杀脑细胞的。
