我是用ubuntu-7.10-alternate-i386硬盘安装的,安装的是UBUNTU DESKTOP,
昨天安了一真进不了桌面,一用startx 就出

x:connot stat /etc/x11/x (no such file oh direc...) aborting
我也没怎么用,怎么会没有呢
到底怎么进啊

在命令行模式下用dpkg 重新加载后
使用系统默认后用startX
就可以了
最后机器重启就可以了

你这样试验一下看看（不一定能解决，因为我没做过）：
sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-all
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
startx
