Exaile 诞生于 2006 年，现在这个版本就是要告诉大家 TA 还活的好好的！
Exaile 包括 Amarok 1.4 (probably the best Linux music player) ，但是包括了许多 KDE 的 Amarok 1.4 的特性。同时包括了许多插件：cover art search (Last.fm, Amazon), iPod Support, Dynamic Playlists, Equalizer, Karaoke, ReplayGain, Desktop Cover, Mini Mode, Moodbar, Multimedia Keys, LyricsMania, Icecast Radio, Podcasts, AudioScrobbler, NotifyOSD, Streamripper, Group Tagger, Alarm Clock, Inhibit Suspend 等等。
Exaile 3.4.0 改进记录：
audio output device can now be switched while playing songs;
improved unicode support;
an option has been added to disallow playback while another song is playing;
UDisks/UDisks2 support;
covers: cover manager improvements, saving to disk;
playlists can be shown in multiple panes;
the left tab panels are now closable;
BPM counter plugin has better UI integration;
enhanced smart playlists: create playlists based on other playlists and support for filtering over 20 different tag types;
a simpler plugin API is available (but the old one still works!);
plugin manager doesn't show users potentially broken plugins anymore;
new plugins: Icecast Radio, lyricsmania, mono output, playlist analyzer, Soma.FM;
fixes/improvements for various plugins.
从这个版本开始，Exaile 官方支持 Mac OS X！
此版本同时也移除了一些插件： Lyricsfly 和 ShoutCast。
Exaile 开发者宣布以后将会把应用的开发转移到 GitHub。
在 Ubuntu 上安装 Exaile 3.4.0 ：
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nilarimogard/webupd8
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install exaile exaile-plugin-contextinfo exaile-plugin-ipod exaile-plugin-moodbar exfalso
(the last command above installs Exaile along with some Exaile plugins which are not installed by default)
Linux 版本, Windows 和 Mac OS X 可以在 GitHub 下载。
Exaile的特色在于使用折叠菜单来选择专辑，同时也可以从维基百科读取歌手信息，支持歌曲黑名单。
