主要改进：
Android-x86 4.4-r1 版本是基于 Android 4.4.2（Kitkat-MR1）版本，修复和添加了 x86 指定的代码，使得能在 x86 平台平稳的运行，特别是 tablets 和 netbooks 方面的改进：
集成了 ffmpeg 作为 stagefright-plugins，支持更多的多媒体文件，现在可以在应用上播放 HD 和完全 HD 视频
使用最新的稳定内核 3.10.52，启用了更多的驱动器
OpenGL ES 为 AMD Radeon 和 Intel 芯片集硬件加速（不支持 PowerVR ）
增强了安装器，支持从之前的版本升级（从 ics-x86 开始），测试是基于支持 ext3/ext2/ntfs/fat32 的 GUI 安装器
KitKat 风格启动器 (Trebuchet).
Support Multi-touch, Wifi, Audio, Bluetooth, G-sensor and Camera.
Support Huawei 3G modem.
Simulate sdcard by internal storage.
External usb drive and sdcard are auto mounted to /storage/usbX on plugging. Support filesystem vfat/ntfs/exfat/ext4.
Support hybrid mode of iso images.
Multi-user support (max 8).
Support Ethernet (DHCP only).
Support 5-point touch calibration on some devices.
Support VM like Qemu and VMware.
Android x86 即运行于 x86 PC上的Android操作系统，目前已经支持大部分安卓程序。
Android X86平台是由Beyounn和Cwhuang主持设计的。项目的主要目的在于为X86平台提供一套完整的Android 系统解决方案。这个项目提供了一套完整的可行源代码树，配套文档以及Live CD与Live USB。
