我的环境FC4+VMware 5 workstation for linux
首先
tar -zxvf VM*.gz
然后进入cd VM*.gz执行VMware-isntall.pl然后一路回车，安装完成后会自动起动vmware-config.pl然后配置,主要是网络配置,但并不是那么顺利，中间会有Fail 然后,你的本地网络都不可用了,怎么办呢?
补丁!
补丁下载地址:http://ftp.cvut.cz/vmware/
里面的vmware-any-any-updatexx.tar.gz
找个最新的下
重启你的FC4起动时就能看见你的vmware并没有启动.然后解压补丁,tar -zxvf xxxxxx.gz然后执行runme.pl
同样会自动起动vmware-config.pl然后再配置一便,然后到配置完成后都[OK]了以后,再重启了你的FC4就OK了.然后就恭喜你,你的vmware可以工作了.回到x在菜单中有vmware起动就OK了
顺便说一下,for linux的没有网络配置工具,网络配置在/etc/vmware下,自给打开看看吧
然后就是安装xp的过程中会死机,解决办法
Note: While you are installing Windows XP, the installation may hang. Just reset the virtual machine (click Reset on the console toolbar). The installation should continue from the point where the guest operating system froze.
If you find that your installation of the guest operating system keeps hanging, in the Configuration Editor, lower the amount of memory allocated to the virtual machine until the installation completes.
Once you finish the installation, try increasing the memory. If the guest operating system hangs again, or if the mouse or keyboard do not respond in the virtual machine, try rebooting your host operating system. If the reboot doesn't work, try reducing the amount of memory allocated to the virtual machine until it starts working again.
