Antonio Ospite 探索了 Gnome 3 的回退模式（fall-back mode），使之相貌和行为更像是之前的 Gnome 2.32。今年夏天，Linus Torvalds 有关对 Gonme-Shell 设计的报怨成了新闻；Gnome 回退模式便是像 linus 之类暂时无法接受----或情况好些，不是太想使用---- Gnome-Shell 的人的选择。
