Role Title: UNIX System Admin (Middleware)
Role Family: Information/Technology Services
Role Discipline: Operations Services

The position is focus on websphere application support on AIX or Solaris system.

Overall Role Purpose:
Three (3) to five (5) years of expert knowledge on WebSphere Application Server 5.x, 6.x, 7.0. SunOne/SunJava (iPlanet WebServers), Apache WebServers, performance tuning, load balancing, stability and recovery, and troubleshooting of WebSphere Applications

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Rotating 7x24 support of WebSphere and WebServer systems including installation, configuration, modification, administration, debugging, security, and fix packs.
• Follow change control procedures and coordinate technical activities with Security team, DBA team, and other IT departments.
• Create, modify, and maintain shell scripts (ksh, perl, JACL, jyton) for monitoring and automation tasks.
• Participate on corporate technical calls as primary team representative for supported environments.

Must have extremely stong UNIX background.
Three to Five years experience with multiple Operation Systems including AIX, Solaris, Linux is key. Knowledgeable of how WebSphere Application Servers interface with F5/Firewalls, Sun/Apache WebServers, Netegrity, Siteminder, and Sun Directory servers and familiarity with DMZ and internet facing network topologies.

Knowledge of Tivoli Monitoring products (TEP/ITCAM) as a user and other operating systems is a plus.

Very strong English communication and written skills is a must. Must be able to collaborate with multiple IT groups, customers and work with limited supervision.
