Sr. Unix/Linux Admin
Report to: GNS-APAC management
1.Support and maintain various UNIX/Linux servers and the APAC network
1.1Dealing with daily operations of these systems, including but not limited to Firewall, Web Proxy, Email, DNS, FTP and WWW
1.2Install, maintain and upgrade Unix / Linux server hardware and software
1.3Monitoring and troubleshooting of network, servers, services, and ensure the availability of these resources
1.4Provide server system management functions, including system configuration, monitoring, analysis, auditing, and upgrades
1.5Optimize performance of Unix / Linux servers
1.6Advanced troubleshooting of emergency situations on the network, must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as required
1.7Maintain strong security which does not unduly impede computing activities. Implement and supervise computer and network security policies and procedures, monitor for IT resource abuse
1.8Maintain documentation regarding network configuration, operating and troubleshooting procedures, and service records relating to network hardware and software
1.9Involved in the backup and restore of Unix / Linux system
1.10Maintain and optimize Cisco VOIP products and technologies (such as Call Manager)
2.Manage projects
2.1You must also be able to take unfinished projects and lead them to completion
2.2Analyze the company's needs and evaluate vendor recommendations; provide comprehensive design specifications for additions and upgrades to the existing infrastructure
2.3Keep updated of the market for operating systems and other products used on the network

Specific/Technical Competencies
The ideal candidate possesses a minimum of 5 years in UNIX/Linux Systems Administration within a large organization. We are looking for an autonomous, responsible and dynamic person that wants to take part in an ambitious and passionate team. You must possess an excellent team spirit and you have excellent troubleshooting skills. You are devoted to offering an irreproachable service to the users.
1.5+ years of experience in network and systems administration in a 300+ users environment and 30+ servers
2.Bachelor's degree in computer science or a computer-related field
3.Excellent English
4.RHCE Certification is preferred.
5.At least 3 years experience in Linux/Unix network administration. In-depth knowledge and experience in the design, implement and maintenance of Linux/UNIX-based network infrastructure, such as firewall, proxy, and E-mail
6.Excellent knowledge of HA and load-balancing technologies, Web (Apache), FTP (Proftpd), DNS (Microsoft DNS, bind), MySQL and PHP
7.In-depth knowledge of common telecommunication technologies
8.Experience in Cisco Call Manager will be an advantage
9.Excellent knowledge of Internet technologies and concepts such as DNS, routing protocols, TCP and UDP and higher level protocols such as HTTP, SMTP and FTP
10.Knowledge of programming (scripting, PERL, etc.) (asset)
11.Knowledge of Microsoft products and technology
12.Knowledge of Data center management and Data Storage Technologies (NAS and SAN)
