2010年2月9日- Novell(NASDAQ：NOVL) 和 LPI(Linux Professional Institute) 今天宣布在全球范围内合作，Novell 入门级认证，将采用LPIC-1 认证标准。基于此项计划，取得LPIC-1 证书的考生同时也满足了 Novell Certified Linux Administrator (CLA) 认证的需求。更进一步，Novell 培训服务机构同意将 LPIC-1 的学习目标纳入到 CLA 课程培训资料中。

众所周知，使用 Linux（包括Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise），能够在确保可靠性和可管理性的同时，降低整个解决方案的成本。在 2009 全球 IT领袖的调查中表明，40%的受访者在今后的12-24个月内将部署新的 Linux应用，49%的受访者表示在今后的5年中，Linux将成为他们的主要服务器平台。

根据 Novell与 LPI的协议，所有 LPIC-1证书持有者，可以申请 Novell CLA 认证而无需任何考试和费用。 Novell 培训服务机构将把 LPIC-1 的考试目标加入其 Linux管理员（Certified Linux Administrator）教程和培训计划中，包括自学、课程订制和合作伙伴为主导的课程培训。

目前如要考取国际 Linux认证，基本上只有 RedHat认证和 LPI认证两种选择，CLA和ubuntu认证可通过LPI 获得。
