Job Title : Business and Product Manager Asia - Open Platform Solutions
Department : R&D
Location : Beijing
Reporting to: Holger Dyroff, Vice President, Business Development, Open Platform Solutions
Job Summary/Responsibilities:
The Business Development Team of the OPS business unit concentrates on
product strategy including business planning and pricing for all SUSE Linux Enterprise product lines
support the sales teams worldwide with all revenue generation activities
develops, supports and services programs
our partners and routes to market including contract negotiations
This role will be based in Beijing, China, Other locations can be discussed.
Up to 15% travel (including international) will be required.
Specific responsibilities of the Business and Product Manager Asia include:
Ownership of all Asia related business planning activities
Team with other business development and product managers for all Asia needs
Team with the Asia sales force, especially in China and Japan to overachieve revenue goals
Deliver proposals for individual large customer and partnership opportunities
Competitive research and associated proposals
Pricing, policies and partnerships for Asia
Translate local requirements into international programs
Help to promote the intelligent workload management and appliance leadership from Novell into Asia specifically China and Japan
Required Skills/Education:
- Bachelors or Masters degree, preferably in a business or technical discipline.
3-5 years experience in a technical, sales or marketing role in the IT sector
Experience with technology based solutions, IT infrastructure solutions, and competitive offerings
Excellent communication and customer focus skills.
Ability to clearly represent Novell, the product, and the strategy and value of solutions.
Confidence in dealing with senior management & executives.
Ability to plan and steer business strategies including business plans and go-to-market programs for the appliance market
Planning, organizing & coordinating skills
Very good English language skills, excellent Chinese language skills
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
Drive for results, Hands-on attitude
Self-reliant in Planning, Organizing & Coordinating all necessary steps in promoting Novell OPS offerings in Asia
Understanding of the Open Source business model and the Novell Linux product lines
Japanese, German or other language skills are an advantage
