You do not appear to be using the NVIDIA X driver. Please edit your X configuration file (just run `nvidia-xconfig` as root), and restart the X server.
意思是不是说驱动没有被应用啊，还要 run `nvidia-xconfig` as root ,可是怎么edit my X configuration，才能run `nvidia-xconfig` as root呢

nvidia网站上记得有一个专门的x驱动的。你可以找找看呢。因为最近1年nvidia搞cuda计算，所以更新了很多linux驱动。否则大量linux用户用不上cuda了。
