Ubuntu新手上路之后，面对和Windows配置第一个不一样的东西，就是软件源了。
所谓软件源，是说一个可以获得各种软件的地址组成的集合，这个地址可以是网站、FTP、光盘、U盘或者是硬盘上的某个目录。在软件源里面有软件仓库，而在软件仓库中，有着各式各样的软件，当你需要某一个软件的时候，只需要在软件仓库中找到它，并且用Ubuntu自带的工具（例如新立得、apt-get）来下载它并且安装他就好了。最重要的第一，就是某个软件推出新版本后，可以自动更新到新的版本。
作为对Windows的一种颠覆，在Ubuntu中，再不需要所谓的软件下载站，设置好软件源就好了。下面给出我设置的软件源，很多都是国外的。众所周知，Ubuntu的主服务器在欧洲，项目小组在挪威，软件的编写者也大多在国外。最新、最全、最完整的软件都是E文的，加上国内的镜像经常出现软件包丢失的情况，因此，设置国外的官方源是相当的必要的！
怎么添加源，我就不写了，这方法Google一下的话，成堆成堆的，最稳妥的方法当然去看Ubuntu中文百科了，新手一定要多看，我也是！
当然，在网上和Ubuntu论坛里，介绍各种源的文章多得要死，而且各种源都是广大爱好者测试过，使用过的，都很好，很快。于是，像我这种新手，本着从Windows里面的经验，和BT经验，把各种各样速度快的源都放到列表中去，企望获得更快的更新速度。
可惜，Ubuntu的软件管理程序虽然可以找到最快的源，但是在更新的时候，是不会自己判断的。Ubuntu只按照源列表的顺序，找到第一个提供相应软件包下载的源并连接下载。因此我们在设置的时候让Ubuntu先自动找最快的源，然后把可能作为补充的源加在后面。相反地，设置的源过多，反而会降低更新 (apt-get update)的速度。
