Job summary
The Red Hat Enterprise Linux Development team is looking for a kernel developer to join us as a Software Engineer. In this role, you will perform bug fixes on existing subsystems and backport Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) device drivers between different Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) releases. We'll need you to have experience with Linux or UNIX operating systems, as well as a familiarity with kernel debugging, device driver development, and kernel system management interfaces..
Primary job responsibilities
Bug fix existing subsystems as well as incremental feature additions
Participate in backporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) device drivers between different releases
Work on user space tools and Red Hat package maintaining
Required skills
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
2+ years of experience in professional Linux kernel development products
Prior participation in upstream Linux projects is a significant advantage
Excellent C programming skills
Experience in device driver development is a plus
Programming experience with Bash or other scripts is a plus
