position: Senior Linux Development Engineer - Kernel and drivers
Wind River Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Linux Developer with an emphasis on Kernel and drivers. Embedded Linux solutions play an increasingly important role in today's embedded device market. In a company with significant growth and the leader in embedded Linux platforms, you will be part of a team creating complete solutions for the embedded market using Linux as development host and target platform.
Responsibilities:
- Resolve Technical Support Requests from customers, with the focus on Kernel and drivers;
- Design and implement software components for Wind River Linux Operating System;
- Integrate open source or independent software vendors' software components.
Required:
- BS/MS in CS or related majors
- 5+ years of Linux Kernel and drivers experience
- Skills to resolve issues through post-mortem analysis of core dumps and kernel crash files
- Core competencies must include one or more of the following: USB, PCIe, i2c, networking, SMP and virtualization
- Knowledge of one of ARM, x86, MIPS and PowerPC processor architecture
- Strong practical C experience in a cross-compilation environment
- Knowledge of Operating Systems concepts and Linux kernel internal
Preferred:
- Strong problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and documentation skill in English
- Results oriented
- Experience with git is a big plus
- Fast learner, adaptable in new computational environments, able to take over tasks
- Flexibility in working with colleagues across different time zones minimizing inquiry response time lag
- Team worker, being able to work in a group, share tasks, complete tasks, and work on multiple tasks in parallel
- Proven ability to work across many technology areas, act proactively and own a problem

Position: Yocto/Linux Development Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Desig and implement new features of Yocto and Wind River Linux;
- Fix defects of Yocto and Wind River Linux
Required:
- BS/MS in CS or related majors;
- 2+ years of Linux system development experience;
- Good skills of the C-language, python, shell scripting and GNU make;
- Knowledge and understanding of the following concepts: Linux user space, kernel modules, cross-compiling, static and dynamic linking, guarding against host dependencies during cross-compilation;
Preferred:
- Experience with git is a plus;
- Good knowledge and experience with Linux distributions (Ubuntu, Fedora, OpenSUSE, Gentoo and so on) is preferred;
- Development experience with the open source community is preferred
- Good team communication and team work capability. being able to work in a group, share tasks, complete tasks, and work on more than two tasks in parallel;
- Fast learner, adaptable in new computational environments, able to take over tasks;
- Good English reading & writing skills;
- Be interested open source and Linux is a big plus;
