Job Summary
The Red Hat Quality Engineering team is seeking a Quality Engineer to join us in our office in Beijing, China. The Quality Engineering team serves as the last checkpoint before code is released to the public. In this role, you will focus on two main areas. One will be test automation for the Linux kernel by learning how to search for, analyze, report, and track defects and verify bug fixes. You'll also work on the kernel debug tool, memory and process, scheduler, and miscellaneous kernel general tools. As a Quality Engineer, you will be encouraged to come up with innovative solutions alongside some of the brightest engineers in the open source industry.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Analyze and test kernel bugs
Develop test cases for kernel patches to prevent regression bugs
Identify testing gaps and develop cases to cover them
Improve overall kernel function testing
Cooperate with other teams
Required Skills
Advanced skills with Linux components and kernel implementation
Comprehensive background in at least one of these areas: kernel infrastructure, kernel debug tool, file system, network, memory, scheduler, or storage
Flexible and self-motivated, with a passion for testing and examining how things work internally
Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
Understanding of virtualization is a plus
