1. Open a terminal and enter the following command to download RealPlayer:
wget
http://www.real.com/realcom/R?hr ... ealPlayer11GOLD.bin
2. Make the file executable with the following command:
chmod a+x RealPlayer11GOLD.bin
3. Run the executable as
root and enter your password when prompted:
sudo ./RealPlayer11GOLD.bin
4. If everything is working, you should see this message, hit enter:
Extracting files for Helix installation........................
Welcome to the RealPlayer (11.0.0.4028) Setup for UNIX
Setup will help you get RealPlayer running on your computer.
Press [Enter] to continue...
5. When prompted, install to /opt/real/RealPlayer, just hit enter:
Enter the complete path to the directory where you want
RealPlayer to be installed. You must specify the full
pathname of the directory and have write privileges to
the chosen directory.
Directory: [/opt/real/RealPlayer]
6. Enter "F" at the following screen to confirm:
You have selected the following RealPlayer configuration:
Destination: /opt/real/RealPlayer
Enter [F]inish to begin copying files, or [P]revious to go
back to the previous prompts: [F]:
7. If all goes well, RealPlayer should install and you will be dumped back to the prompt:
Copying RealPlayer files...Path setup done.
Succeeded.
installing application icons resource...
installing document icons resource...
....Succeeded.
Configuring Mozilla...
Installing .mo locale files...
Setting selinux context...
Succeeded.
RealPlayer installation is complete.
Cleaning up installation files...

8. Optional: delete the RealPlayer download with the following command:
rm RealPlayer11GOLD.bin
