Beyond
Linux From Scratch (BLFS) is a project that provides instruction for extending a
Linux From Scratch LFS installation into a full desktop or server distribution. The first release candidate for version 6.3 has been released: "BLFSversion 6.3 is the complement to the LFS 6.3 book. The BLFS book nowprovides build and configuration instructions for almost 500 packages(many more than that if you want to count each individual package inthe auto-tooled X Window instructions). Some of the new packagesintroduced in this version are: Dash, ksh, D-Bus bindings, Wireshark,rxvt-unicode, Gutenprint,
Pidgin, GnuTLS (and many of itsdependencies), Qt version 4.x, GnuPG version 2.x, and Amarok. Majorupdates include GNOME 2.18.3 (with several new GNOME packages), KDE3.5.9, Firefox 2.x, Thunderbird 2.x, and most (if not all) of themainline server packages." Here are the full
